DAY 1. Arrival in Yerevan. City tour

Arrival at “Zvartnots” International Airport. Meeting at the airport. Transfer to the hotel. Check-in. Rest. City tour in 2 793-year-old Yerevan. Tasting Armenian dishes. Visit to the Matenadaran – one of the richest book-depositories in the world. Spare time. Welcome Dinner at a traditional restaurant accompanied by national music. Overnight in Yerevan.

 

DAY 2. Yerevan – Etchmiadzin (UNESCO) – Zvartnots (UNESCO) – Yerevan

Visit to the History Museum of Armenia. Move forward to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin – the centre of the Armenian Apostolic Church. On the way back visit to the ruins of unique Zvartnots Temple. Spare time and overnight in Yerevan.

 

DAY 3. Yerevan – Garni – Geghard (UNESCO) – Yerevan

Visit to the only standing pagan temple in Armenia – Garni. Continuing the route to see Geghard Monastic Complex famous for its rock-cut architecture. “Lavash” bread baking with villagers and open-air lunch. Return to Yerevan. Excursion and degustation in well-known Yerevan Brandy Factory. Spare time. Evening entertainment at a famous jazz-club. Overnight in Yerevan.

 

DAY 4. Yerevan – Khor Virap – Noravank – Jermuk

Visit Food Market to buy juicy and tasty Armenian fruits. Move forward to Khor Virap Monastery situated on the foothills the Biblical Mount Ararat. Continuing the route and have lunch at a cave. Visit Noravank Monastic Complex surrounded by fiery red rocks. City tour with mineral water tasting in famous Jermuk Resort Town. Spare time and overnight.

 

DAY 5. Jermuk – Zorats Karer – Selim – Noraduz – Lake Sevan

Visit to Zorats Karer astrological observatory (3th millennium BC). Lunch at a roadside restaurant. Proceed to Silk Road well-preserved Selim Caravanserai. Visit to Noraduz – the biggest assemblage point of exceptionally Armenian khachkars (“cross-stones”). Spare time on the shore of one of the highest fresh-water lakes in the world – the Sevan. Overnight at a shore side hotel.

 

DAY 6. Lake Sevan – Dilijan – Sanahin (UNESCO) – Haghpat (UNESCO)– Dzoraget

Move to the North. A short but a pleasant walking in Dilijan historic-cultural reserve (within the territory of Dilijan National Park). Continuing the route. Making Armenian dish “khoravats” and lunch with a local family in their private house. Visit to the masterpieces of architecture – Sanahin and Haghpat Monastic Complexes. Spare time and overnight in Dzoraget village.

 

DAY 7. Dzoraget – Gyumri – Marmashen – Akhalkhalaki

Transfer to Gyumri and walking tour in the Old Town. Lunch at a typical national restaurant. Visit to Marmashen Church. Transfer to Armenia-Georgia border and meeting with the Georgian team. Dinner and overnight in Akhalkhalaki.

 

DAY 8. Akhalkhalaki – Khertvisi – Vardzia – Borjomi – Bakuriani

Visit to Khertvisi Fortress and Vardzia cave town. Picnic lunch in Vardzia. Trip to Borjomi to explore the national park and taste mineral water. Spare time and overnight in Bakuriani.

 

DAY 9. Bakuriani – Gonio – Batumi

Visit to Gonio Fortress, where, in accordance to the legend, Medea's brother was murdered; Batumi Ethnographical Museum and exclusive Botanical Garden. Evening walking along the boulevard. Dinner and overnight in Batumi.

 

DAY 10. Batumi – Kutaisi

Spare time. After the lunch visit to Kutaisi ancient city to see the Gelati Monastic Complex and Academy (UNESCO), Bagrati Cathedral (UNESCO). You will have an opportunity to observe archaeological excavations in Vani, Sataplia cave and woods. Dinner and overnight in Kutaisi.

 

DAY 11. Kutaisi – Gori – Uplistsikhe – Tbilisi

Trip to Gori to visit J. Stalin's house-museum. Exploring Uplistsikhe cave-town - entire town with streets, churches, palaces, residential dwellings and storerooms carved out of mountainside soft rock (1st millennium BC). Dinner and overnight in Tbilisi.

 

DAY 12. Tbilisi

Full day city tour. Visit to old and new districts, Golden treasury of the State Art Museum, Funicular, Sulfur bathhouses. Spare time in Shardin Street, Rustaveli Avenue, and Parliament house. Farewell dinner with Georgian folklore at a traditional restaurant. Overnight in Tbilisi.

 

DAY 13. Departure from Tbilisi

Early breakfast at the hotel. Check-out. Transfer to the airport.
